Is the 2016 Big 12 the best conference ever, or not even the best conference this season? This question will not be answered at the Big 12 tournament. One question that will be answered is: Can West Virginia win its first conference tournament game since 2010? The Mountaineers figure to have a good shot in a potential quarterfinal game against Texas Tech.
I’m curious to see how Oklahoma fares. The Sooners’ offense went a long way with three-point shooting this season and they finished as the rare 40/40 team. They took over 40% of their shots from beyond the arc and they made over 40% of those attempts. But OU’s offense is average or below average at most other things. Particularly troubling was that they finished ninth in the conference, and 209th in the country, in two-point percentage.
Among the teams in the field, only Kansas and Iowa State have experienced a Big 12 tournament title in the past decade.
